so for the last few months i have been living in Gran Canaria with my girlfriend, at the moment we´re in Marrakesch, Mocorro on a trip home. To get here we had to fly to Barcelona, so we thought we would spend a couple of days there. on the second day my canon 350d got stolen outside the Olympic Statium with my 10-20mm Sigma Lens.
I was gutted, still am
It was one of those proper jobs where 1 guy distracts you and another takes the camera.
so i was sitting on a wall waiting for my girlfriend to come out the statium, i just looked at some photos before putting the camera next to me on the wall, a guy walked past and dropped his keys. so as a good person, well im sure everyone would tell him that he has dropped his keys, thats when another guy took the camera. Before i realized it had been taken they were gone. i been to many countries around the world and always watched out for my things, i rarely let my camera leave my hand. Its just a sickening feeling that people can do this so easily, and the guy that dropped the keys said thank you, what a prick..
Yeah its an old camera and abit dated now, but I got that camera around 4 years ago and it has been with me to around 15 countries. It wasnt just a camera to me.
I didnt really want to go to Barcelona but we couldnt fly to Marrakesch from Las Palmas. I was really looking forward to taking photos in Morocco, spent alot of time cleaning all my camera equipment and thinking of the photos i could take.. in a few days we´re going to Fes.
Walking around here is just depressing, seeing great photo opportunities.
Another kick in the teeth is that my bank card doesnt work..
I have a 1gig card filled with photos from the first day in Barcelona so ill upload them when i can. But i think its going to be awhile before i get a new camera.
so just remember some people are arseholes and watch out for your stuff. You can never be too carefull.
